
Gladiators Release Protected List

Atlanta Gladiators News Release
The Gwinnett Gladiators protected list has been released and includes 18 players. Gwinnett protected five defensemen, 12 forwards and one goaltender. The players on the Gladiators protected list are defensemen Will Colbert, Tim Filangieri, Paul Flache, Dallas Jackson and Cody Brookwell. The forwards on the protected list are Dustin Cameron, Kyle Kucharski, Ryan Garbutt, Justin Milo, Aaron Bendickson, John-Scott Dickson, Derek Nesbitt, Tim Miller, Matt Francis, Tom Zanoski, Devon Timberlake and Andy Brandt while Garrett Zemlak is the only goaltender on the protected list.
Teams are allowed to protect as many players as they wish provided the players protected meet the guidelines as defined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association which state that teams shall retain the rights to each player that signed a Standard Players Contract in 2010-11, and has not been traded or released, OR signed Standard Players Contract in 2010-11, and was recalled to the National Hockey League, the American Hockey League or an International Ice Hockey Federation team, and has not been traded or released, OR received a 2010-11 Qualifying Offer for the current season, and DID NOT sign a Standard Players Contract, and has not been traded or released, OR has been suspended by the team or League, and has not been traded or released, OR signed Standard Players Contract on or after the first day of the 2010-11 regular season, then subsequently signed an NHL/AHL contract, and has not been traded or released, OR has executed the ECHL Retirement Form, and has not been traded or released. ECHL protected lists may exceed 20 players.
All trades made by "Future Considerations" must be completed by June 13th and the ECHL Season-Ending Rosters are due on June 15th.
