Bill Abrams, the founder of Nevada Reading Week, believed in the need to encourage Nevada's children to read for pleasure as well as for information. In 1975, to inspire our communities to celebrate reading, Abrams initiated a statewide week of reading celebration. Themes were chosen by different areas of the state. Students from schools all over the state competed in art contests to design logos and bookmarks. Abrams harnessed the talents of our communities, small and large, to create excitement among both children and adults.

The Gladiators hit the road in week seven as they travel to Columbus to take on the Destroyers on Saturday night, March 12. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 PM PT and the can be heard on ESPN Radio 920 with Andrew Siciliano and Mike Pritchard calling the game.
