
Gladiators coach, board members and players to serve food during Thanksgiving week

Las Vegas, NV, November 18, 2004 â The Las Vegas Gladiators will combine efforts with the City Mission of Las Vegas on Sunday, November 21, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. to serve Thanksgiving dinner for more than 800 low-income families in the Las Vegas community at 1601 E. Washington Street.
Gladiators' Head Coach Ron James, members of the Las Vegas Gladiators Community Involvement Board and Gladiator players will join members of the Goddesses of the Las Vegas Gladiators and personally serve food to hungry low-income families of the Las Vegas community. The distribution of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner will be served at 1601 E. Washington Street (next to Cashman Center). Together, the Gladiators and City Mission of Las Vegas will help spread kindness and hope to families here in Las Vegas.
Often recognized as one of the nation's most affordable and fan-friendly sports leagues, the Arena Football League will begin its 19th season in January 2005, making it the second-longest running football league in U.S. history, trailing only the NFL. On the strength of its Mission Statement and Fans' Bill of Rights, the AFL is America's fastest growing sport. The Austin Wranglers joins the Philadelphia Soul and New Orleans VooDoo as the three expansion teams added for the 2004 season. At least two more teams will be added in each of the next two seasons. A network-TV sport, the AFL will celebrate its second season on NBC in 2004.
The Gladiators third season at the Thomas & Mack Center kicks off in 2005 on Sunday, January 30, at Noon against divisional rival Los Angeles Avengers on NBC. Season tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by calling the Gladiators office at 702-731-4977 or logging onto www.lvgladiators.com.
