November 18, 2004 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Chicago Rush News Release
The Chicago Rush and All-Ironman FB/LB Bob McMillen have agreed to terms on a contract extension that will keep McMillen in a Rush uniform through the 2006 season, the team announced today.
McMillen (6-3, 260, Illinois Benedictine), a 10-year AFL veteran, is coming off the best season of his career, rushing for a career-best 285 yards and an AFL-high 22 touchdowns. Last season he became the first player in AFL history to rush for 100 or more yards in six-consecutive seasons and just the fifth player in history to rush for 1,000 career yards. He ranks in the AFL's top five in career rushing attempts (4th with 352), rushing yards (4th with 1,149) and rushing touchdowns (5th with 65).
"It's great to know that Bob will be with us for two more years," said Rush head coach Mike Hohensee. "He played some of the best football of his career last season, and with his strong work ethic there is no reason to expect anything less than a repeat performance of last year."
McMillen originally signed with the Rush prior to the 2003 season after spending six years with Arizona and two with San Jose, and winning ArenaBowl championships with each. In 32 games with Chicago, McMillen has rushed for 397 yards and 28 touchdowns, and recorded 52 tackles, two sacks and an interception.
The Rush kicks off its fifth anniversary season in January with the 2005 home opener set for noon on Sunday, February 6, against Jon Bon Jovi's Philadelphia Soul. Rush season tickets, beginning at just $64, currently are on sale. To reserve your tickets, or for more information about 2005 Rush season tickets, fans can call the Rush at (877) Rush-Tix (787-4849) or visit the team's Web site, www.chicagorush.com.
