Giveaways and Fireworks Aplenty During Upcoming Curve Homestand

CURVE, Pa. - The Altoona Curve couldn't stay away from home for long as after a quick three-game set in Reading, the boys in railroad red and boiler bronze return to Blair County Ballpark starting tomorrow to open up a seven-game homestand over six days that runs through Sunday, June 19th. The Curve will play three games with the New Britain Rock Cats (AA - Minnesota Twins) and then conclude the homestand with three games versus the Harrisburg Senators (AA - Washington Nationals).

It all gets underway with a Two-for-Tuesday presented by Atlantic Broadband and KRAFT Singles at 7 p.m. on Tuesday vs. New Britain. Fans will be able to take advantage of two-for-one offers on tickets, hot dogs and small popcorns throughout the game.

More great values and family fun will take place at the ballpark on Wednesday as the Curve will have a special mid-week postgame fireworks show on Cresson Night in Curve, Pa. Fans will get more bang for their buck at Wednesday night's game with New Britain thanks to Ponderosa Steakhouses as it's a Ponderosa Four-Pack Wednesday at BCB. Fans can get four tickets, four hot dogs and four regular sodas all for just $30 to the 7 p.m. game with the Rock Cats.

Finally, it's the third What We're Watching Wednesday of the season as the Curve continues its parody of popular television with "How I Met Your Mascot". Do you remember the first time you met Diesel, Steamer, Al and Tenacious' This edition of What We're Watching Wednesday is sponsored by WTAJ-TV, which fittingly enough is Central Pennsylvania's home to "How I Met Your Mother".

The first of four-straight giveaway days at the ballpark will take place on Thursday as the Curve kicks off its Nittany Travel Summer Cruise Series that will see one lucky winner take home a cruise for four on September 4th while also paying tribute to the films of one of the greatest actors of all time, Tom Cruise.

There are four different Summer Cruise Series dates throughout the season that feature a giveaway to the first 500 fans 21 and older. All fans that collect all four items in the series and bring them to the game on September 4th vs. Richmond will be entered to win one cruise for four thanks to Nittany Travel.

"Top Gun" will be Cruise film of choice on Thursday night and the first 500 fans 21 & up will receive a pair of Aviator Sunglasses, just like the ones Pete "Maverick" Mitchell wore in the film, thanks to Bud Light. It will also be a Thirsty Thursday at BCB thanks to Rocky 104.9 with $2 draft specials on 16oz. Bud Lights and $1.50 specials on small 22oz. sodas.

Local UFC Fighter Charlie "The Spaniard" Brenneman will also be at BCB on Thursday night as he prepares for his fight versus TJ Grant in Pittsburgh on June 26th. He'll be on hand for the game and sign autographs for fans in attendance.

The giveaways galore continue on Friday as the Harrisburg Senators visit BCB beginning at 7 p.m. The first 1,000 fans through the turnstiles for Friday night's game will be given a Tenacious Bank Giveaway to hold all of their loose change thanks to Sanitary Maintenance.

Father's Day Weekend will continue the giveaway theme as the Curve will help out a few lucky dads over the weekend. On Saturday, one lucky dad will take home a brand new flat screen TV and enjoy a 5:30 p.m. doubleheader thanks to Your Building Centers. Saturday's games with Harrisburg are also on EMS Appreciation Night. Plus, after the game, it's the first Scout Night Sleepover of the season with scout troops being able to spend the night on the field under the skies of Curve, Pa.

Sunday brings a special gift for dad on Father's Day as the homestand concludes at 6 p.m with another giveaway. A brand new gas grill from Fiore True Value will be given away to one special dad on Father's Day during the game with the Senators. After the game, all fans will be treated to a spectacular postgame fireworks show courtesy of Panera Bread as the summertime tradition of Sunday Night Fireworks continues in Curve, Pa.

Not to be forgotten, kids will have the opportunity to run the bases after every weekend game.
