
Gillies Named Team Captain

The Saskatoon Blades are proud to announce that Colton Gillies has been named the team Captain with Chris Durand, Derek Hulak, and Teigan Zahn as Assistant Captains.
Gillies, an 18 year old 1st round draft choice of the Minnesota Wild (16th overall), is in his 3rd full season with the Blades and was previously an Assistant Captain with the team.
In 165 career games as a member of the Saskatoon Blades, Gillies has accumulated 31 goals and 32 assists for 63 points. A physical presence, he has also spent 283 minutes in the penalty box. With 11 goals on the season in 2007/08, he currently leads the team in that category.
Colton has represented Team Canada on numerous occasions in addition to his time in Saskatoon including the 2008 World Junior Hockey Championships, the 2007 Canada/Russia Super Series, and the 2006 World U-18's.
