Huntsville Havoc News Release
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Huntsville Havoc head coach, John Gibson, has promised his team that he will let them shave his head following the final regular season game if the Havoc can climb back into first place.
"I don't know if I was watching too much news about Brittany Spears the other night or what but I thought, the team as of late, did not seem to be having fun like we were during the first half of the season," Gibson said. "So I thought I would make them an offer they could not refuse. The deal is as follows; if we regain and hold onto first place to win the regular season Championship the players can shave my head on the ice after the last home game against PeeDee; and if we fall short of first then the team would have to sacrifice a player for me to shave. Just as I thought, it was a deal they could not refuse and the player to be sacrificed will be Craig Bushey. I hope this adds a little excitement back in the locker room and the guys can start winning and having fun again!"
The Havoc were in first place for much of the season but have struggled lately going just 7-8-2 since the calendar rolled over to 2007. They currently sit at 24-15-3, just four points behind Columbus for the league lead.
The Havoc will open a three-game road trip tomorrow night in Columbus before heading to Jacksonville on Friday and Pee Dee on Saturday.
