Vancouver Giants News Release
The Vancouver Giants have opened up their first round WHL playoff series with a pair of victories over the Chilliwack Bruins as they prepare for the next two games in the Fraser Valley.
In Game 1 at the Pacific Coliseum last Friday, the Giants posted a 2-1 win. Michal Repik and Spencer Machacek each scored for Vancouver while Tyson Sexsmith turned aside 23 Bruins shots.
On Saturday, Repik had two third period goals including the game winner as the Giants edged out the Bruins 3-2 in Game 2. The Giants were 1-for-7 on the power play while the Bruins finished the game 2-for-8.
This series now shifts to Prospera Centre for the next two games. The teams will face each other in Game 3 on Tuesday March 25 (7:00pm) before playing Game 4 Wednesday March 25.
Should a Game 5 be required, it will take place at the Pacific Coliseum Friday March 28 (7:30pm). If a Game 6 is needed, it will occur in Chilliwack Saturday March 29 (7:00pm).
