The Vancouver Giants have guaranteed themselves third place in the WHL's B.C. Division following a four-game-in-five-day week of Western Hockey League action.

Last Wednesday, the Giants dropped a 4-1 decision to the Seattle Thunderbirds at the Key Arena. Mitch Bartley notched his 50th point of the season with the lone Giants goal.

Friday, the Giants played their final game of the year against a U.S. Division opponent and fell 4-2 at home against the Portland Winterhawks. Matt Robinson and Andrej Meszaros scored for the Giants, who finish the year against U.S. Division opponents with a record of 11-13-0-2.

Saturday, the Giants snapped their four-game losing streak with a 1-1 tie at home against the Kelowna Rockets. Gilbert Brule netted his team-leading 36th goal of the year while goaltender Marek Schwarz made 29 saves to help Vancouver earn a point.

Last night, Robinson registered his first multiple-goal performance of the season in the Giants 4-1 on the road against the Kamloops Blazers. Meszaros and Chad Scharff had the other Giants markers as Adam Jennings made 24 saves for the win. The Giants wrapped up their season series against Kamloops with a 7-0-1-0 record, out-scoring the Blazers 33-13 in the eight games.

The Giants are now 31-28-4-4 on the season as they enter the final two weeks of the regular season. Vancouver has the week off for practice as they prepare for a pair of road games this weekend against the Prince George Cougars. Both games at the Mulitplex Friday March 11 and Saturday March 12 start at 7:30pm.
