The WHEAT KINGS will be putting two winning streaks - an 8-gamer on the road and a 15-game winning streak on the line Tuesday night when they continue a 3-game road trip in MEDICINE HAT against the defending champion MEDICINE HAT TIGERS.After closing out a mini 2-game home stand Friday night with a 5-2 victory over the SWIFT CURRENT BRONCOS, the WHEATS opened up their final extended road trip of the regular season Sunday night with a 4-2 win in MOOSE JAW.BRANDON scored two unanswered third period goals to improve it's record to 41-19-5-1, good for 88 points and an eight point cushion on second place SASKATOON in the Western Hockey League's Eastern Division.The WHEATIES also moved three points up on LETHBRIDGE in the battle for top spot in the Conference, with both teams having six games remaining.ERIC FEHR scored his 54th and 55th goals of the season to pace the winners on Sunday with singles coming off the sticks of RYAN STONE and LANCE MONYCH.Winners of seventeen of their last 18 games, the WHEAT KINGS haven't lost on the road since January 28th in RED DEER.BRANDON is currently 24-7-1-1 at home.3-0-0 at the MTS Centre in WINNIPEG.17-12-4 on the road.and have a league best 9-1-5 overtime record.The nine victories represents a franchise high and moves BRANDON into a tie for the WHL record, set by PORTLAND during the 1989-90 campaign.The WHEATS, currently ranked eighth in the CHL, play SWIFT CURRENT on Wednesday.

FEHR REACHES ANOTHER MILESTONE; Right-winger ERIC FEHR, who leads the WHL in scoring became the first WHEAT KING in six years to record 100 points in a single season with his 2-goal effort on Sunday (BRETT McLEAN was 47-54-101 in '98-99 when he split the year between BRANDON and KELOWNA; CORY CYRENNE was 47-71-118 in '97-98).In Febrruary, he became the first WHEAT KING since KELLY GLOWA in the early eighties to score back to back 50-goal seasons.The WASHINGTON CAPITALS' first round draft choice is also hoping to become the first BRANDON player to win the WHL scoring title since RAY FERRARO did it in 1983-84.By scoring his fifth game winning overtime goal last Tuesday night, the 19-year old Winkler product also set a new WHL record, breaking the old record of four that he shared with former REGINA PAT FRANK KOVACS in 1990-91.FEHR has also moved past former VANCOUVER CANUCK RICK BLIGHT and into tenth place on the club's all time list for goals with 142, two behind BYRON LOMOW.

OTHER MILESTONES: LANCE MONYCH has moved into sole possession of second place on the club's all time list for games played. The 5-year WHL veteran, who signed with the NHL's PHOENIX COYOTES last summer, will be playing in his 313th career game Tuesday.Captain TIM KONSORADA will be playing in his 306th game. He's currently fifth on the club's all time list. Assistant coach DWAYNE GYLYWOYCHUK is the franchise record holder, having played 323.Former TIGER defenceman RILEY DAY scored his first ever goal as a WHEAT KING last Tuesday night in SASKATOON.Wednesday night's 3-goal performance against the BLADES was JAKUB SINDEL'S first ever hat trick in the Western Hockey League.

PLANTE NAMED PLAYER OF THE MONTH: 17-year old rookie netminder TYLER PLANTE has been chosen the JACK FRASER WHEAT KING PLAYER OF THE MONTH for February, edging out the high scoring duo of ERIC FEHR and RYAN STONE.Last month, he compiled an 8-0-0 record, a 2.04 goals against average and a stellar 923 save percentage.In 43 games this season, PLANTE is 31-9-2 with a 2.55 goals against average and a .907 save percentage (leads all WHL rookies).By recording his fifth shutout of the season Wednesday night, PLANTE tied the club's single season record that was set by all star JOSH HARDING last season.It also moves him into a tie for fifth on the WHEATIES all time list with HARDING and BRIAN ELDER.

WHO IS HOT? ERIC FEHR has managed a point in 20 of his last 22 games (17-23-40) and is currently nine points ahead of RYAN STONE in the league scoring race.STONE is 31-60-91 (12-18-20 in last 14) on the season while captain TIM KONSORADA is 4th with 80 points.KONSORADA has points in sixteen of his last 17 games (10-16-26).Ex-BLADE STEVEN LATER is third in scoring among defenceman with 56 points.TYLER PLANTE is third in the WHL with 31 victories.LANCE MONYCH is 5-10-15 in his last nine games.

BRANDON BITS: The WHEAT KINGS' powerplay leads the league (24.2%), after scoring four in Sunday night's win over the WARRIORS.ERIC FEHR leads the WHL with 28 powerplay markers.JEFF TOPILKO (knee) is the only player on the shelf.BRANDON has clinched home ice advantage for at least the opening round of this year's WHL playoffs, which are set to begin on Friday, March 25th at the Keystone Centre. Game two will be Sunday, March 27th at 2 p.m. at MTS Centre in Winnipeg.JAKUB SINDEL has the distinction of being the youngest player to ever score a hat trick in the Czech Republic Super League.WHEATIES are looking to win third Eastern Division pennant in four years.Last Wednesday's crowd of 5,794 was the team's regular season record breaker.BRANDON is currently averaging 3,409 fans per game.WHEATS are 2-2-0 vs. MEDICINE HAT this season.RILEY DAY is 1-1-2-17PIM since joining the WHEAT KINGS.WHEATIES to honour Brandon's JILL OFFICER (JENNIFER JONES Scott Tournament of Hearts winning rink) during Friday's home game against the visiting PRINCE ALBERT RAIDERS.
