Everett Silvertips News Release

Vancouver, B.C. - The Everett Silvertips could not stop the Western Conference leading Vancouver Giants on Saturday night taking a 7-0 loss. Garry Nunn lead the Giants offense with two goals and one assist on the night bringing his point totals to 46 on the season (13G, 33A). Lance Bouma took home the night's first star with three assists, while Evander Kane, Brendan Gallagher had two assists each. Thomas Heemskerk made 26 saves in the loss moving his record to 10-12-2-2. Jamie Tucker would make 23 saves for his fourth shutout of the season.

This brings the 'Tips record to 21-21-5-0 with 47 points in 47 games played standing 15 points behind second place Spokane Chiefs in the U.S. Division. The Silvertips are now 3-6-0-1 in their last 10 games. Everett wraps up their weekend heading back to Tri-City on Sunday night for a 5:05pm start.

Craig Cunningham opened up the scoring early with his 20th goal on the season at 3 minutes and 32 seconds of the first period. Nick Ross would be quick to follow Cunningham scoring just over two minutes later and bringing the score to 2-0. A late James Wright goal at 12:15 would conclude the periods scoring and give the Giants a 3-0 lead to end the first, out shooting the 'Tips 19-12.

The second period would not fair much better for the Silvertips as three different goal scores from Vancouver would make the score 6-0. Goals from Jonathon Blum, Alex Rogers and Nunn would improve Vancouver's lead on 22 shots during the second period. Heemskerk would be replaced by Kent Simpson after Vancouver's fourth goal.

Nunn's second goal of the game in the third period at 15:01 would give Vancouver a 7-0 lead and end up being the final score leading the Giants to victory.
