
GIANTS MEDIA RELEASE - Kannok-Leipert Named Top D-Man In

Vancouver, B.C. - The Vancouver Giants would like to congratulate prospect defenceman Alex Kannok-Leipert on being named the Top Defenceman in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League for the 2016/17 season. The Regina native was also named to the league's First All-Star Team.
The 16-year-old blue liner finished the regular season with 10 goals and 25 assists in 44 games with the Regina Pat Canadians. Kannok-Leipert has suited up in eight WHL games for the Giants this season, tallying one goal and two assists.
The Regina Pat Canadians finished in first place in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA League regular season with a record of 36-6-2. Giants prospects Harrison Blaisdell and Parker Hendren also played for Regina while Carter Belitski was an affiliate player for the Pat Canadians.
Regina currently leads the Saskatoon Blazers 2-1 in their first-round best-of-five playoff series. Game 4 is set for Friday evening.
