The Vancouver Giants congratulate forward Casey Pierro-Zabotel on being called up to the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League. The Penguins are the AHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League.
Pierro-Zabotel has just completed his first season with the Giants. In 49 games, the 19 year-old from Kamloops, B.C. had 19 goals, 29 assists, and just six minutes in penalties. He also added nine power play goals and three game winning goals and was named the Giants Most Sportsmanlike Player of the Year.
Pierro-Zabotel has signed an amateur try-out agreement with the Penguins. He Pittsburgh's third round pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft (80th overall).
