Spokane, WA - The Vancouver Giants staged a late comeback attempt but fell just short, losing 3-2 to the Spokane Chiefs on Wednesday night at Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena. Radovan Bondra and Chase Lang scored for Vancouver in the third period.

Ethan McIndoe opened the scoring for Spokane in the first, potting his first goal in the WHL off an awkward bounce in front of the Vancouver net on a power play. Adam Helewka extended the lead with a shorthanded marker in the middle frame. It was a goal where Brennan Menell nearly pulled the puck off the goal line, but it was ruled to have entered the net after a video review.

Keanu Yamamoto made it 3-0 for the home team in the third period, scoring from in tight after a pass from his brother, Kailer, on a man advantage. The Giants got two goals late to pull to within one as Bondra scored from the top of the left circle at 16:23, and less than a minute later, Lang found the net on a one-timer. Goaltender Ryan Kubic was pulled from the net in favour of an extra attacker in the dying minutes, but the G-Men were unable to equalize.

Vancouver will visit the Seattle Thunderbirds on Friday evening. Puck drop is at 7:35pm.

The Giants will be back in action at the Pacific Coliseum on December 2nd for Toonie Wednesday when the club hosts the Medicine Hat Tigers! For tickets, go to TicketLeader.ca or call 604.4.GIANTS (604.444.2687).
