
Giants defeat the Silvertips 2-1 in overtime

Tonight at the Everett Events Center in Everett, WA the Vancouver Giants defeat the Everett Silvertips in overtime by a score of 2-1.
Scoring for Everett halfway through the second period was Karel Hromas, adding to his previous three game point streak bringing him to three goals and two assists. Aiding his teammate in the goal was Assistant Captain Torrie Wheat. Rookie netminder Leland Irving made 34 stops on 36 shots in an attempt to keep his team in the game. On the power play Everett went 0 for 5 while Vancouver did not convert on their two attempts on the extra man advantage. Vancouver outshot the Silvertips by a margin of 36 to 31.
For Vancouver, goalie Marek Schwarz saved 30 of 31 shots to help his team to the win. Tallying goals for the Giants were Gilbert Brule and Adam Courchaine.
The Silvertips travel back up north to Vancouver on Friday, October 8th to face off once again against the Giants. Game time is set for 7:30pm and the pre-game show will begin broadcasting at 6:30pm on NorthSound 1380.
