Modesto's lone run came across in the bottom of the eighth inning when right fielder Seth Smith hit a single to centerfield that scored catcher Rick Guarno who earlier in the inning lead off with a single to left field. Modesto put two runners on in the bottom of the 11th inning when Joe Gaetti singled and advanced on a fielders choice and a Giants error, however, the rally ended two batters later. Gaetti's single extended his consecutive on-base streak to 45 games.
Modesto travels to Stockton on Monday to take on the Ports in a four game series. Scheduled pitchers are Aaron Marsden for Modesto and Keith Dunn for the Ports. Game time at Banner Island Ballpark is 7:05 p.m.
