April 22, 2008 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Vancouver Giants News Release

The Vancouver Giants have announced Craig Bonner has resigned as the club's Assistant General Manager and Assistant Coach. Craig will be taking over the position of Vice President and General Manager for the Kamloops Blazers.

Bonner has held the dual role for the Giants since the 2002-03 Western Hockey League season. He was a member of the Giants coaching staff when they captured their first WHL Championship in 2006 and when they won the Memorial Cup in Vancouver in 2007.

Prior to his time with the Giants, Craig spent six seasons as an assistant coach with the Blazers. He also played four years of major junior hockey in Kamloops, captaining the Blazers to their first Memorial Cup title in 1992.

"Craig has been an extremely valuable member of our organization over the last six seasons," comments Giants Majority Owner Ron Toigo. "He has done a tremendous job in developing the culture of our hockey club into one of the best in the country. While we are sad to see him leave, we know this will be a great opportunity for him as he continues his hockey career. We wish Craig and his wife Simone all the best in their future in Kamloops."

"I want to thank everyone in the Giants organization for making my time in Vancouver so memorable and enjoyable," says Bonner. "I have learned a great deal from working with Mr. Toigo, my brother and General Manager Scott Bonner, Head Coach Don Hay, and the rest of the staff and players that make up the Giants family. I wish them all the best as they move forward."
