
Chiefs Take Lead in Series

The Spokane Chiefs took a 2-1 lead in their best-of- seven Western Conference Championship Series over the Tri-City Americans with a 2-0 shutout on Monday night in the Spokane Arena. For goaltender Dustin Tokarski it is his third blanking of the post- season and second this series. In 224:06 of this series, Tokarski has allowed just one goal.
Spokane will host the Americans on Tuesday night in game four at 7:00. Tickets are available by calling the Chiefs office at (509) 535-PUCK or TicketsWest at (800) 325-SEAT.
The Chiefs scored the first goal in regulation this series when Ondrej Roman batted in a rebound of a Judd Blackwater shot at 8:21 of the first period. David Rutherford also assisted on the play.
Rutherford scored an insurance goal at 8:59 of the third after Seth Compton chased a loose puck in the slot and tipped it to the 20-year-old for his sixth of the season.
Tokarski dropped his goals against average to 1.22 through 13 games of the playoffs.
After tomorrow night's game, Spokane will travel to Tri- City on Saturday for game five of the series. A potential game six will return to Spokane on Monday, April 28th.
