Vancouver Giants News Release
Vancouver, B.C. - The Vancouver Giants announced today their complete 68-game regular season schedule for the 2023-24 Western Hockey League season.
This season, all Friday home games will begin at 7:00 p.m. instead of 7:30 p.m. like in years past.
The Giants will begin their 23rd season on home ice against the Victoria Royals on Friday, September 22 at the Langley Events Centre. It's the only game they will play during opening weekend.
The team's first road contest will be against last year's Memorial Cup hosts, as they travel to face the Kamloops Blazers on Friday, September 29.
The regular season will wrap up with a home-and-home against the Kelowna Rockets in late March. The Giants host the Rockets on Friday, March 22 in what will be their final home game, before closing out the 2023-24 campaign at Prospera Place in Kelowna on Saturday, March 23.
Every two years, the Giants make the long journey to the Prairies for their longest road trip of the season, and this year that will occur in January. What used to be a six-game trek is now five, thanks to Winnipeg's move to Wenatchee. The G-Men start in Brandon on Saturday, January 6, and then head to Prince Albert (Jan. 9), Saskatoon (Jan. 10), Regina (Jan. 12) and Moose Jaw (Jan. 13).
The longest homestand for the Giants will be four games in December, when they have back-to-back home games Dec. 16 (Prince George) and 17 (Seattle), and then return from the holiday break to play at the LEC on Dec. 27 (Victoria) and 29 (Edmonton).
