February 19, 2007 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Georgia Force News Release
SINGLE PRACTICE: The team opened practice by working on field goal protections and field goal blocks. Both K Keith Gispert and K Mark Lewis kicked well as they connected on the majority of their attempts. In three-on-three drills QB Chris Greisen connected with rookie WR Brent Holmes for a 25-yard touchdown. Later, WR Troy Bergeron hauled in a 25-yard touchdown reception from QB James MacPherson. The team portion of practice began with plays in the redzone. DB James Whitley and DB David Crocker made key stops on run plays to keep the offense out of the endzone. The offense finally scored when QB Ryan Vena threw to an open FB John Ritcher in the back of the endzone. Greisen finished the team session with three touchdown passes, including two to WR Kevin McKenzie.
"Offensively I think things are progressing very well," stated offensive coordinator Steve Thonn on the production of the offense. "Both the quarterbacks and wide receivers are doing a good job of working together at learning the offense."
Wednesday, February 21 and Thursday, February 22, the Force will host combined workouts with the New Orleans VooDoo at their Flowery Branch practice facility.
