February 14, 2007 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Georgia Force News Release
SINGLE PRACTICE: Prior to Nashville coming in for a combined workout, head coach Doug Plank made the decision to hold only one practice today. Georgia opened practice by working on onside kick recoveries. The drill started out a little rough, but the players improved after a couple of repetitions. During the three-on-three portion of practice DB Willie Gary knocked down several passes intended for receivers in the endzone. The defense played well in team portion, with DB James Whitley intercepting a pass in the endzone and DL Ernest Allen batting an attempted screen pass to the ground. Before the practice ended, QB James MacPherson found WR Chris Jackson for a touchdown from seven yards out. Following afternoon meetings, the team was given the rest of the day off to recuperate before the Kats come to town.
"We are excited to have another team coming in here," said head coach Doug Plank of the combined workouts with Nashville. "Many of our players and coaches have experience with the Kats and are looking forward to Thursday and Friday. We have enjoyed practicing against them the last three seasons, but it is great to be able to conduct the workout at our facility this time."
Thursday, February 15 and Friday, February 16, the Force will host combined workouts with the Nashville Kats at their Flowery Branch practice facility.
