On evaluating the players and team at scrimmage with the Georgia Force Feb. 15-16, 2007
"We're going to evaluate a lot at the scrimmage and try to get our roster set. We want to take a look at where we are as a team, and how we are functioning on offense and defense...the important things. We want to see who has a command of our offense at the skill positions and how good the lineman work together, amongst other things. Defensively, we want try to get some continuity in the secondary and with the guys up front, we want to see if they can rush the passer. It's pretty simple; we want to see what we are and how we are as a team."
On the Kats and their first test against another team
"You want to keep your emotions in check, there is a fine line between being tough and being stupid and you don't want guys to cross over that line. You want them to compete, you want them to play hard together, but we also don't want them to let their emotions take control of themselves, so stay calm, stay poised and get a good work day."
On how the practice/scrimmage structure against the Georgia Force will be
"When we practice, we will do individual work, we will do one on one's, three on three's, and some team work. Then, Friday morning, we will do special teams and focus on getting some good work with that unit. We will finish the afternoon with a solid scrimmage where the offense will get about 60 plays and the defense will get about 60 plays."
The Nashville Kats will travel to Atlanta on Feb. 15-16, 2007 to face the Georgia force in practice and scrimmage sessions.
