FLOWERY BRANCH, GA - The Arena Football League has announced that QB Chris Greisen has been named AFL Offensive Player of the Month for his performance during the month of March.

Greisen, 6-3, 220 pounds, has completed 93 of 122 (76.2 pct.) passes for 1,174 yards with a league-high 30 touchdowns as he has led the Force to their first 4-0 start in franchise history. After the first month of the season, he is near the top of every statistical category for quarterbacks. Greisen currently ranks first in passing touchdowns (30) and completion percentage (76.2). He also ranks second in quarterback rating (135.0) and fourth in passing yards (1,174). Last week under the leadership of Greisen, Georgia's offense became the first team in AFL history to score 60+ points in the first four weeks of the season after defeating the San Jose SaberCats, 64-62.

"This is a great accomplishment for Chris and our football team," said team president Dick Sullivan. "Greisen's performance over the first month of the season has been tremendous, and we are looking forward to watching him develop throughout the year. Chris has demonstrated the character and leadership that every team wants to see from one of their players on and off the field."

Greisen was named Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in Week 1 against Arizona when he connected on 25 of 30 passes for 337 yards with nine touchdowns in his first career start, leading the Force to a 69-65 victory over the Rattlers. His nine touchdown passes tied a single-game team-high, which was set in 2005 by QB Matt Nagy (vs. Dallas, 5/14). The nine touchdown passes were also one short of the AFL record for touchdown passes by one player in a team's opening game of the season. The record was set by QB Mike Pawlawski of the Albany Firebirds in 2000.
