Georgia Force News Release
FLOWERY BRANCH, GA- Today, the 2005 National Conference Champions opened Training Camp at their practice facility in Flowery Branch, Ga.
The team's first practice of the 2006 season began at 9 a.m. The team began by stretching and then spit into four groups (quarterbacks and wide receivers, defensive backs, fullbacks/linebackers and offensive/defensive linemen). After position drills the team came together and conducted 8-on-8 drills.
The afternoon practice began at 2:30 p.m. and was conducted by the coaching staff in much of the same manner. The one exception being they practiced special teams for the first time. The special teams period was highlighted by a fantastic block by WR/DB Nick Ward and followed by excellent returns from OS Chris Jackson and WR/DB Rob Carey.
HEAD COACH DOUG PLANK:
Impressions of the first day of camp:
"I was impressed with the tempo and the energy the team showed at both practices today. The unit we have is much closer to being a team at this point then we were last year at this time. This group is about winning a championship, and is willing to sacrifice for each other to achieve this goal."
