Georgia Force Host Final Open Tryout

FLOWERY BRANCH, GA - The Force will host their final open tryout of the offseason at their practice facilities in Flowery Branch on Saturday, December 16.
Skill positions (quarterback, wide receiver and defensive back) will begin registration at 8:15 a.m. Offensive linemen, defensive linemen, linebackers and fullbacks will register at 10:30 a.m. Georgia is looking to finalize their 2007 roster before training camp opens on February 8. The Force will offer the top performers from the tryout an opportunity to participate in a two-day workout during training camp to provide the club a closer evaluation of the player in live action. The participants will be given the chance to take part in team practice (full pads) and attend meetings with the team as they attempt to impress the coaching staff and earn a roster spot.
DRILLS DURING TRYOUT
QB - Dropping back, passing and ball exchange drills
OL/DL, FB/LB - Pass-rush, pass-pro drills and one-on-one drills
WR/DB - Catching, route-running, coverage drills, one-on-one drills and three-on-three drills
"Football is as much a game about getting the right opportunity as it is about having the talent," stated director of football operations Jim Kubiak. "Great football players are out there waiting to be discovered. That is why we are so excited about our open workout this Saturday in Flowery Branch. There are guys on every AFL Team that have competed in events such as this, including myself. You never know if this will be the day that we find our next impact player. We plan on inviting the top performers from this Event to our Training Camp for two days of padded practices with the Force. Sometimes all a person needs is a chance."
