
Georgia Force Have Six Named to All-Arena Teams

FLOWERY BRANCH, GA - The Arena Football League has announced that QB Chris Greisen and WR Chris Jackson have been named to the All-Arena first team in addition to OL Marcus Keys, WR Troy Bergeron, DL Jermaine Smith and LB Umar Muhammad earning All-Arena second team honors. Georgia's six players were the second highest total in the league and mark a franchise-high.
Greisen, 6-3, 220 pounds, led the Force to a franchise-best 14-2 record and a Southern Division Championship while setting the AFL's single-season touchdown mark (117). He completed 392 of 530 pass attempts (74.0 comp. pct) for 4,851 yards with 117 touchdowns and a passer rating of 132.0. Greisen set AFL single-season highs in passer rating (132.0) and completion percentage (74.0) in addition to the 117 touchdowns. He was named AFL Offensive Player of the Week on four occasions (Week 16, Week 9, Week 6 and Week 1), which is more than any other player in the AFL, and earned AFL Offensive Player of the Month honors for his performance in the month of March. Greisen finished the season ranked first in the AFL in touchdowns (117), passer rating (132.0) and completion percentage (74.0). He also ranked second in passing yards (4,851), fourth in completions (392) and ninth in attempts (530).
Jackson, 6-2, 220 pounds, is an eight-year AFL veteran who established career highs in receptions (145), receiving yards (1,915) and touchdowns (47) in 2007. His career season is also the best season a Force receiver has ever produced as he set franchise highs in every statistical category. Jackson ranked near the top of the charts among receivers during the regular season as he ranked second in points scored (306), receptions (145), receiving yards (1,915), yards from scrimmage (1,934) and first downs (112). He also ranked third in all-purpose yards (2,394) and eighth in third down receptions (17).
Keys, 6-3, 280 pounds, started 15 games this season for the top ranked offense in the AFL (323.5 ypg). Due to the protection from Keys, Greisen was able to set the AFL single-season record for touchdown passes with 117. Georgia finished tied for second in the AFL in fewest sacks allowed with five.
Bergeron, 6-2, 190 pounds, returned from his one-year hiatus to the NFL and set career highs in catches (132), receiving yards (1,736) and touchdowns (41). Bergeron combined with Jackson to become the first receiving tandem to haul in at least 130 catches, 1,700 receiving yards and 40 touchdowns each in the 21-year history of the AFL. He finished the season ranked fourth in receptions (132) and yards from scrimmage (1,817) in addition to ranking fifth in first downs (97) and receiving yards (1,736). He also ranked seventh in scoring (252) and ninth in all-purpose yards (2,106). Bergeron also made an impact on special teams, where he ranked fourth in the league in tackles (17) in addition to posting 287 kickoff return yards on 13 attempts with one touchdown.
Smith, 6-3, 290 pounds, and a six-year AFL veteran earns his second selection to the All-Arena second team (2004). He collared a career-high 7.5 sacks in addition to 13.5 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, one interception, nine passes defensed, one fumble recovery and one blocked kick in 16 games. Smith led a defensive line unit that totaled 18 of the team's league-high 29 sacks. His 7.5 sacks ranked him seventh in the AFL this season.
Muhammad, 5-11, 260 pounds, posted career highs in tackles (35.5), tackles for loss (14) and sacks (eight) in addition to recording two passes defensed, one fumble recovery and one forced fumble. His eight sacks tied him for fourth in the AFL and ranked him first among all linebackers in the league. Muhammad's 14 tackles for loss ranked second in the league and was 7.5 more than Dallas LB Duke Pettijohn (6.5). This is the first-time in his eight-year career that he has earned All-Arena honors.
