Samuels Receives All-Arena Honor

TAMPA BAY - The Arena Football League has announced that receiver/linebacker Lawrence Samuels has earned 2007 All-Arena Second Team honors at the Jack Linebacker position. This is the fifth consecutive year the he has earned All-Arena honors.

Samuels, 6-foot-3, 215-pounds, recorded 38 tackles, three interceptions, two fumbles recoveries and forced one fumble this season. He finished fourth on the team in tackles, tied for second in interceptions and second in fumbles recovered. Samuels earned Ironman of the Week in Week 12 after accumulating four tackles and interception on defense. This is the fifth time in his 14-year career he earned All-Arena honors.

The third seeded Tampa Bay Storm (9-7) will host sixth seeded Columbus Destroyers (7-9) in the National Conference Wild Card Round Saturday, June 30 at 12:00 p.m. EST on Bill Currie Ford Field at the St. Pete Times Forum. Tampa Bay defeated Columbus 34-32 in an exciting Week 9 match-up as Traco Rachal knocked down a two-point conversion in the final seconds of the game to seal the victory for the Storm.
