Greensboro Generals News Release
GREENSBORO GENERALS
The Generals haven't played since last Saturday, when they defeated the Richmond Renegades 3-2 in a shootout. The Generals fell behind 2-0 just eight minutes into the game, but they quickly got on the scoreboard after that with a Chris Bell goal seconds later. Despite a total of 60 shots on goal, Greensboro only managed one more goal, with Geno Parrish netting the game-tying goal with ten minutes left in regulation. Despite eight shots in overtime, including a penalty shot, it stayed 2-2 into the shootout, which the Generals dominated, outscoring the Renegades 3-0.
LEXINGTON MEN O' WAR
The Men O' War defeated the Johnstown Chiefs 4-2 last Sunday. Lexington spotted the Chiefs a 1-0 advantage after one period of play, but they jumped out to the lead with three unanswered goals in the second period. Alex Mathieu tied the game at 1-1, then Jared Smyth put the Men O' War ahead to stay midway through the second period. Brett Draney added an insurance goal before the end of the period for a 3-1 lead, and after a Johnstown goal cut the deficit to 3-2, Smyth added an empty net goal in the final minute to seal the victory.
