
Generals Drop Second Straight with 4-0 Loss to Bombers

The Victoria Generals were shut out by the Brazos Valley Bombers 4-0 at Edible Field in Bryan despite outhitting Brazos Valley 8-7 and putting a runner on third base in six of the nine innings. With the loss, Victoria falls to 10-10 this summer and fourth in the Texas Collegiate League standings.
Abilene Christian RHP Blaine Palmer was credited with the loss after starting on the mound and logging seven innings while allowing three earned runs, one unearned run, seven hits, a walk and two strikeouts. Murray State College LHP Ryan Dugas pitched the final inning, walking a batter and striking out another.
UT-Arlington DH Tyce Armstrong and Kalamazoo College 1B Robert Newland each tallied two hits to pace the Generals' offense, raising their averages to .500 and .300, respectively. Meanwhile, Western Oklahoma State CF Cristopher Munoz drew two walks.
The Bombers struck first with a run in the first inning on a wild pitch before adding two more runs in the second via a sacrifice fly and an RBI single. Brazos Valley's final run was plated in the fourth inning on an RBI groundout.
Victoria continues its road trip on Saturday, June 24, as it takes on the Baton Rouge Rougarou at Pete Goldsby Field. First pitch is set for 7 p.m.
