Generals Announce Official Game Date Change

FLINT, MI - The Flint Generals of the International Hockey League are happy to announce the regular season scheduled game on Thursday, March 12, 2009 against the Muskegon Lumberjacks at Perani Arena has been moved to Friday, March 13, 2009 at Perani Arena at 7:30 p.m. Tickets dated March 12, 2009 will be honored.

The Generals realize this is an important date change. "This is something that we really needed to do for our fans and our team," said Generals Head Coach, Bobby Reynolds. "Both us (Generals) and Muskegon had March 13th as an off day. When looking at the schedule it just didn't make sense to us."

"We felt Friday would be an obvious better drawing date which would be good for our organization to introduce new fans to Generals hockey," continues Reynolds. "This change will give our current fans a BREAK from Thursday night games. This move is good for players on both teams as well."

Reynolds realizes the work and cooperation it takes to make an important change like this in the league's schedule. "I would like to thank the Muskegon Lumberjacks Tim Taylor (G.M.) and Bruce Ramsay (Head Coach) along with the IHL office," continued Reynolds. "This change in our schedule will allow for more fans, locally, and maybe in Muskegon to come to our game to begin their weekend activities. We hope everyone can come see us."

The Flint Generals return home to host the Bloomington Prairie Thunder on Thursday, February 26, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. We proudly welcome USA 1980 Olympic Hockey Gold Medalist Jim Craig who is making a special appearance in our area to bring public awareness on the Ultimate SAAVE program.

Craig is the national spokesman for SAAVE (Saving Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Very Efficiently), medical condition that strikes very quickly. This took the life is his father, Don Craig in 1988.
