Generals and Tennessee Postponed Friday

JACKSON, TENN. - The Jackson Generals, the Double-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, were shut out by Mother Nature on Friday, as inclement weather forced a postponement of their scheduled game with the Tennessee Smokies. The two teams will play a double-header on Saturday, July 7, beginning at 4:05 pm CT, to account for the postponement.
The second game of Saturday's double-header will begin approximately 30 minutes after the first contest concludes. Broadcast coverage will be available on the Jackson Generals Baseball Network via TuneIn Radio, as well as MiLB.TV.
Currently, the Generals and Smokies are tied 1-1 in their four-game series, with Jackson taking the first game 9-8 in 12 innings on the Fourth of July. Tennessee won the second contest, 16-3, on Thursday night. The Generals (46-38, 6-8 Second Half) won the First Half North Division title with a 39-30 record, clinching a postseason berth. Tennessee (45-39, 9-5 Second Half) is off to a hot start after the All-Star Break, having finished the First Half in fourth place at 36-34.

2018 First Half North Division Champions
The Jackson Generals, a West Tennessee baseball franchise since 1998, are the Double-A minor league affiliate of Major League Baseball's Arizona Diamondbacks. The Ballpark at Jackson was recently named the 2017 Professional Sports Field of the Year by the Tennessee Turfgrass Association. On the field, the Generals and manager Shelley Duncan won the First Half North Division title in 2018, assuring them of a bid to the end-of-season playoffs in September.
