
Gems Clip Kelowna, Take Both Games Of Doubleheader, 4-1, And 4-3

Kelowna, BC: Gems swept a doubleheader from Kelowna on Thursday night, at Elks Stadium in Kelowna, BC, winning the first game 4-1, and taking the nightcap 4-3. Brandon Horth (Loyola Marymount University) gave up only one run in the first game, earning his third straight win and improving to 3-0. Bret Hartnett (Seattle University) picked up his first season save in relief for the Gems.
In the series finale, Nick Sabo (Long Beach State University) improved to 2-0 with a one hit performance, as the Gems improved to 8-4 on the season, winners of two straight. Nick Fisher (Oregon Tech) blasted four hits in the doubleheader, as the Gems pounded 18 hits in the two wins.
The next Gems home game will be Monday, June 24th as the Gems host the Cowlitz Black Bears; with the first pitch at 6:35 pm. Monday's promotion is Kids Get in Free (sponsored by Kla-Mo-Ya Casino). Each Monday night game during the 2013 Gems season will be Kids Night.
