Klamath Falls, OR - LJ Brewster (University of Hawaii) and Craig Meredith (University of Oregon) both had two run RBI singles in the 4th inning as the Gems came back from a four run deficit to defeat the Bend Elks 9-7 on Thursday evening at Kiger Stadium.
Angelo Lingos (University of California Riverside) moved to 2-3 with a win in relief for the Gems who snapped a three game losing streak with the win. Xavier Borde (University of Arizona) lost his second game of the year for the Elks, falling to 0-2 overall. The Gems improve to 18-20 on the year, improving to only five games out of a playoff spot in the West Coast League's South Division. Bend falls to 23-15 on the year.
Gems next home game is Friday, July 26th vs. the Bend Elks. Friday's promotion: "Coach Benjamin Wade from the TV reality series "Survivor" visits Kiger Stadium for pictures and autographs!
