Gems Acquire DaCosta From Lumberjacks

DAYTON, OH - The Dayton Gems, proud members of the International Hockey League, announced today that they have acquired defenseman Justin DaCosta from the Muskegon Lumberjacks for future considerations.

DaCosta, has played in nine games for the Lumberjacks posting one goal and two assists for three points and was plus three in those games. The rookie defenseman from Mississauga Ontario played in 10 playoff games for the Central Hockey League's Colorado Eagles where he had no points.

DaCosta spent time between the Ontario Hockey League and Canadian University Hockey. In the OHL, the 5-10, 182 pound defenseman played for the Barrie Colts and the Mississauga IceDogs, while in the CIS he played four years for the University of New Brunswick while getting his education.

Dayton Gems coach, John Marks:" We are pleased with the acquisition of Justin DaCosta. He has theability to anchor our defense and look forward to having him in a Gems uniform."

The Dayton Gems return to action tomorrow (Wednesday) night when they face the Flint Generals at Perani Arena and Event Center at 7 pm.
