Quad City Mallards News Release
MOLINE, Ill. (November 11, 2009) - The Quad City Mallards, proud International Hockey League (IHL) affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, have partnered with Coors Light and Euclid Beverage to offer a special ticket discount to both veterans and active military in honor of Veterans' Day. Seats for the Mallards' game this coming Sunday afternoon, November 15, at 4:00 p.m. against Bloomington are available to both current and former members of the armed forces for just $9.
This is the second home game for which the discount has been in effect. Discounted tickets to the Mallards last home game- Saturday night against Muskegon- were also available to military personnel and vets.
"We are so happy to be working together with Coors Light to extend this offer to members of the U.S. military and to our veterans for a second game," said Mallards Executive Vice President and General Manager Shawn Hackman. "On Veteran's Day this is just our way of offering a small token of appreciation for their service to our country."
Discounted tickets are available to fans who purchase their seats in person at the i wireless Center box office. The box office is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on game days from 10:00 a.m. through the end of the second period. To take advantage of the discounted ticket price, those purchasing seats can show any of the following forms of identification when purchasing tickets: U.S. Uniform Services Retired Identification Card, Current Leave and Earnings Statement (LES), Veterans Organization Card (i.e., American Legion or VFW), photograph in uniform, DD214 or citation or commendation. In addition, tickets will be discounted $1 for fans who donate a non-perishable food item when purchasing their seat. Food donations will go to the River Bend Food Bank. Sunday will also be the Mallards' first Family Skate Night of the season. Fans will be able to lace up their skates and join Mallards players on ice at the i wireless Center after each of those contests. Fans will have a further chance to spend time with players Sunday when, upon leaving the i wireless Center, Mallards players will head to the Bier Stube in Moline for a post-game event to which all fans are invited.
