Quad City Mallards News Release
MOLINE, Ill. - Defenseman Guillaume Gelinas has been assigned to the ECHL's Quad City Mallards by the American Hockey League's Iowa Wild, the Mallards announced today.
Gelinas, 22, rejoins the Mallards after scoring two goals and adding three assists in 25 games with Iowa this season. The Wild's campaign ended Saturday night. The 5' 10", 185-pound Quebec City native scored nine times and picked up 18 assists for 27 points in 43 games with the Mallards before being recalled by Iowa February 20.
Gelinas returns to the Quad Cities in time for Wednesday night's third game of the Mallards' best-of-seven Western Conference quarterfinal playoff series against the Missouri Mavericks. The Mallards return home for game three after dropping the first two games of the series in Missouri.

In 2013-14 Gelinas won the Emile Bouchard Award as the league's top defenseman. That campaign also saw Gelinas lead QMJHL defensemen in points (92), finish third overall in assists (69) and finish seventh overall in points while capping off his junior career by helping propel the Foreurs to the QMJHL President's Cup title.
