ECHL Announces Fines, Suspension

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Monday announced the following fines and suspension.

Manchester's Paquette suspended

Manchester's Danick Paquette has been suspended for four additional games as a result of his actions in ECHL Playoff Game #D-2, Adirondack at Manchester, on April 15.

Paquette was assessed a major penalty game and game misconduct for elbowing under Rule #45.5 at 2:28 of the third period. He is fined and suspended under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.

Paquette missed Manchester's playoff game at Adirondack on April 16, and will miss the remainder of this series. In the event that the series ends in fewer than seven games, Paquette will serve the balance of his suspension next season.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.

Wheeling's Bakker and McCarron fined

Wheeling's Shane Bakker and John McCarron have both been fined an undisclosed amount as a result of their actions in ECHL Playoff Game #B-2, Wheeling at Florida, on April 16.

Bakker is fined as a result of his slashing penalty at 20:00 of the third period and McCarron is fined as a result of his game misconduct under Rule #75.5 at 6:01 of the third period.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.
