Gazdag Rises To Second Most Goals In Club History; Wagner Registers Hat Trick Of Assists

CHESTER, Pa. - Philadelphia Union faced off against New York Red Bulls on Sunday night at Subaru Park, winning 4-1. In the first half, New York's Omir Fernandez opened the scoring in the 11th minute with a right footed shot from the center of the box . The Union responded in the 29th minute with defender Jakob Glesnes scoring with a right footed shot from close range. In the second half, the Union took the lead in the 57th minute with defender Damion Lowe scoring a header assisted by Kai Wagner. One minute later, defender Kai Wagner found forward Julian Caranza in the box to extend the lead to 3-1. In the 76th minute, midfielder Daniel Gazdag scored the fourth and final goal of the match, surpassing C.J. Sapong for the second-most goals in Union history.

The Union are back at Subaru Park to face FC Cincinnati on Saturday, September 16th (7:30 p.m. / Apple TV).
