
Gardella Helps Suns Down Seacoast 8-3

Derek Gardella had two extra base hits as the Pittsfield Suns (23-27) took home an 8-3 victory over the Seacoast Mavericks (15-37) at Leary Field on Wednesday.
He homered in the second inning and doubled in the sixth inning.
Matt McIssac brought the heat against the Seacoast Mavericks during his outing. McIssac held the Seacoast Mavericks hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four.
River Carbone got the win, running his season record to 2-2. He allowed three runs over five innings. Carbone struck out three, walked none and gave up eight hits.
Josh Jacques was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in 5 2/3 innings, walked one and struck out six.
Jordan Pallazola, Gardella and Cam ONeill helped lead the Pittsfield Suns. They combined for six hits and four RBIs.
