New York Dragons News Release

New York Dragons quarterback Aaron Garcia was named the AFL's Offensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week. Garcia just completed his fourth game after returning from a fractured leg. Behind Garcia's arm, the Dragons have won three of the last four games since his return, which has revitalized the team's playoff hopes this season.

In his Week Twelve performance, Garcia threw for nine touchdowns by completing 24 of 37 passes for 261 yards with no interceptions. In addition, he posted the second-highest passer rating (125.1) of any winning quarterback during the week while competing against the League's top overall defense.

Since his return, Garcia has completed 92 of 142 passes for 1,061 yards and 29 touchdowns to only three interceptions. The Dragons are averaging 60.0 points per game since Garcia's return as compared to an average of 44.8 points per game in the first eight weeks of the season. In Week Eleven, Garcia completed 22 of 34 passes for 264 yards and eight touchdowns with no interceptions.

"It's an honor to win this award again," said Garcia. "This is a first for me in my 13-year career (winning two consecutive weeks). But more importantly, we were able to get another victory as a team and put ourselves in a better playoff situation."

The Dragons head to New Orleans in Week Thirteen for an ESPN2 Monday night match-up versus the VooDoo at 8:00 pm. Garcia and the New York Dragons will look to improve their record to 5-7 with a victory.
