Missouri Named ADT Defensive Player of the Week

PHILADELPHIA -The Arena Football League announced today that Philadelphia Soul OL/DL Dwayne Missouri was named as the ADT Defensive Player of the Week following his performance against the New Orleans VooDoo.

Missouri (6'5", 280, Northwestern) had a career night against the VooDoo as he recorded two sacks, a forced fumble, a blocked kick, a safety and a fumble recovery for a touchdown. The touchdown was his first defensive score in his five-year AFL career. On the season, Missouri leads the Soul with five sacks, six tackles for losses, four forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries to go along with 13.5 tackles, two pass breakups and one blocked kick.

He is one of only two players (Sean Scott) on the Philadelphia roster from the inaugural season in 2004 and this is the first time he has received the ADT Defensive Player of the Week award in his career.

Along with Missouri, other players receiving league recognition for their play in Week 12 were New York Dragons QB Aaron Garcia, who was named Offensive Player of the Week and Tampa Bay Storm WR/LB Lawrence Samuels, who was named Ironman of the Week.
