Camden Riversharks News Release
Shaun Garceau pitched into the 9th inning as the York Revolution ended the Riversharks two-game winning streak with a 4-1 victory. The Riversharks are now just 2-9 this season against the Revolution.
Garceau (3-5) did not allow a run until the 9th inning as he went the first 8.1 innings allowing a run on six hits.
Federico Baez (6-5) took the loss allowing three earned runs on eight hits in six innings of work.
York took the lead in the 3rd inning on some sloppy defense by the Riversharks. Octavio Martinez scored from third base on an error from pitcher Federico Baez for the first run of the game. Later in the inning, Ramon Castro brought home Chris Walker with a sacrifice fly to extend the lead to 2-0. The lead was pushed to 3-0 when James Shanks delivered an RBI single that scored Carlos Guzman.
Chris Nowak provided some insurance in the 8th inning with a solo home run, his 15th of the season, to make it 4-0.
The Riversharks tried to rally in the 9th inning but fell short scoring just one run on Danny Richar's sacrifice fly.
The Riversharks will finish up their three-game series against the York Revolution tomorrow night, August 11th. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM. Individual and group tickets can be purchased online at www.riversharks.com or by calling 1-866-SHARKS-9.
