It'll mark 576 days since the Hounds last game (Wednesday, March 11, 2020) between then and the new, exciting season kicking off.
The Hounds begin off their 50th Anniversary Season and #OHLOpeningWeek with a two-game home stand the second weekend of October in a battle of Northern Ontario.
Friday, October 8th the North Bay Battalion skate into the GFL Memorial Gardens, while the very next day (Sat. Oct 9) the Hounds and Sudbury Wolves kick-off the latest edition of the Bell Challenge Cup.
Both games are set for 7:07 PM start times.

Here are some of the features of the 2021-22 regular season schedule:
- The home portion of the schedule includes 9 Wednesdays, 10 Fridays, 10 Saturdays and 5 Sundays
- Game times remain 7:07 PM for all days excluding Sunday, which remain 2:07 PM starts
- The Hounds will compete against 12 of the OHL's 20 member teams; the unbalanced schedule for the upcoming season WILL NOT see the Hounds enter action against the Hamilton Bulldogs, Kingston Frontenacs, Oshawa Generals, Ottawa 67's, Peterborough Petes, Mississauga Steelheads or Niagara IceDogs.
"The League chose to return to play this year with a schedule that would provide all teams the optimum opportunity for success. We largely modeled the structure of games after the NHL this season, consisting of mainly regional play along with reduced travel and costs" stated Commissioner David Branch
As a result the Hounds will play the Windsor Spitfires 8 times (+2), Guelph Storm 6 times (+2), Kitchener Rangers 6 times (+2), Owen Sound Attack 4 times (+2), North Bay Battalion 6 times (+2) and Sudbury Wolves 10 times (+4) compared to previous seasons.
- Unique to this season's schedule, the Hounds will entertain 6 teams in double-header games in Sault Ste. Marie:
North Bay Battalion (Oct. 22-23)
Guelph Storm (Nov. 5-6)
Windsor Spitfires (January 7-8)
Sarnia Sting (February 11-12)
London Knights (February 25-26)
Kitchener Rangers (March 11-12)
Due to the current restrictions on sporting events in Ontario, the Soo Greyhounds have not released any information regarding 2021-22 season tickets.
The organization will provide updates when suitable in the future.
