Gameday Preview: Storm Host Stampede for Final Time this Season

Kearney, NE. - The Tri-City Storm will play host to the Sioux Falls Stampede for the final time this season tonight at the Viaero Center. The Storm defeated Sioux Falls by a final score of 4-2 at the Viaero Center earlier this month in the only meeting of the season. Tri-City will travel to Sioux Falls for two road games on March 1st, & 2nd to complete the four game regular season series. The Storm enter tonight's game as the 1st place team in the Western Conference standings. A win over Sioux Falls tonight, and a Muskegon loss on the road in Green Bay would give Tri-City possession of 1st place in the USHL league standings entering tomorrow's home games against the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05pm.

Tri-City (14-4-1-0) begins a five-game home stretch tonight with a matchup against the Sioux Falls Stampede. The Storm put together a perfect three game week last week around the Thanksgiving holiday with wins over Lincoln, and Omaha. The Storm defeated the Stars 7-2 at the Ice Box in Lincoln on Wednesday, posted a 3-0 shutout over Omaha at the Viaero Center on Friday, and returned to the Ice Box Saturday night to down the Stars by a final score of 6-2. Both Isaiah Saville and Jake Barczewski picked up wins in net, with Saville recording his 3rd career shutout over Omaha on Friday. Colby Ambrosio notched his 1st career hat trick in the Storm's 7-2 defeat of Lincoln on Wednesday, and Ambrosio scored the game winning goal on Friday to complete a four-goal week. Ronnie Attard registered five assists in the three-game span last week for Tri-City. The Storm will seek a 15th victory of the season tonight in regular season game #20.

Sioux Falls (8-6-1-1) is currently enters tonight's game as the 6th place team in the Western Conference standings, trailing the 1st place Storm by 11 points. Since dropping a 4-2 game to Tri-City on November 10th at the Viaero Center, the Stampede have won two of its last three games, including two road wins over Lincoln and Omaha. Artem Ivanyuzhenkov leads Sioux Falls with 6 goals and 12 points on the season entering tonight's game.

Today's game is set to begin at 7:05pm CT, and will be streamed live on HockeyTV, and Storm Radio.
