April 12, 2019 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Tri-City Storm News Release

Kearney, NE. - The Tri-City Storm will host the Des Moines Buccaneers tonight at the Viaero Center in the first game of "Fan Appreciation Weekend". Tonight, Tri-City will seek its 45th win of the regular season following back to back road losses last weekend against the Sioux City Musketeers and the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. After playing its last six games of the season on the road, the Storm return home tonight as Anderson Cup Champions. Tri-City clinched the regular season championship on March 29th in an overtime loss against Sioux City. The Anderson Cup will be on display on the Viaero Center concourse during both of the Storm's home games this weekend. 2018-2019 Anderson Cup Championship t-shirts are also available for purchase at the Storm Store. Puck drop for tonight's game against the Des Moines Buccaneers is set for 7:05pm. Tickets to the game can be purchased at www.StormHockey.com, or by calling the Viaero Center Box Office at 308-338-8144.

Tri-City (44-12-3-1) will look to avoid dropping three consecutive games for the first time this season in tonight's home game against the Buccaneers. Despite last weekends losses, the Storm have won seven of the last ten games and are now just two goals away from tying the team's record for most goals scored in a single season (225). The USHL will release the 2019 Clark Cup Playoff schedule at the conclusion of regular season play this weekend, and the Storm could learn its opponent for its Western Conference Semifinal matchup as early as Tuesday.

Des Moines (34-21-1-4) are currently locked in a heated battle for home ice advantage in next week's opening round of the 2019 Clark Cup Playoffs. The Bucs will face Fargo in the best of three playoff series, but with each team tied at 73 points, the final weekend of the regular season will decide which team will get to host all three potential games in the series. Des Moines will travel to Sioux Falls following tonight's game with the Storm for the Buccaneers' final game of the regular season. Des Moines has qualified for the Clark Cup Playoffs after finishing in last place in the Western Conference last season.

Tonight's home game vs. Des Moines is a $5 Kids Friday and there will also be a postgame skate for fans following the Storm's matchup against the Buccaneers. Friday's game will give Storm fans the first opportunity to see the Anderson Cup on the Viaero Center concourse this weekend.

Tomorrow's home games vs. Sioux City will be the final regular season game of the Storm's historic 2018-2019 Anderson Cup Championship season. The game will include fan giveaways, a post-game autograph session with Storm players, drink specials, a chance to win a trip for two to Las Vegas, and the team's annual "Jersey's Off Our Backs' promotion. Saturday's game will also include the presentation of the Anderson Cup Trophy to the Tri-City Storm from the USHL.

Today's game is set to begin at 7:05pm CT, and will be streamed live on HockeyTV, and Storm Radio. For home game tickets, and additional information on the Tri-City Storm, visit www.StormHockey.com or call 308-338-8144.
