TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: The Thunder host the Reading Royals in the eighth meeting of the season between the two teams. Reading has had the better of the results to date, earning victories in 5 of 7 meetings with Adirondack collecting five points overall against the Royals.
EVERYBODY KNOWS SHE'S A PERFECT TEN: Adirondack set several franchise records, including goals scored, in a 10-4 victory over the Manchester Monarchs on Sunday afternoon at the GFCC. The Thunder also set franchise records with five power-play goals, four second-period goals, 17 team assists and four multi-goal scorers in one game. The ten-goal output was the first for an Adirondack team since 2/10/15 when the Adirondack Flames scored 10 times against the Syracuse Crunch.
TERRIFIC TRIO: Adirondack and Reading enter tonight's action tied with the Brampton Beast for second place in the North Division, with all three teams on 59 points. Adirondack and Brampton each have a game in hand on the Royals and both teams have two games in hand on division-leading Manchester. Including tonight, the Thunder will see Brampton and Reading a combined seven times over the rest of the season.
CAN'T TOUCH THIS: Rookie defenseman Stepan Falkovsky scored extended his point streak to eight games with a pair of goals in Sunday's 10-4 victory over Manchester. The 6-7 blueliner has claimed sole possession of the ECHL lead in goals by a defenseman with 15 on the season. Falkovsky also leads the league in power-play goals from the blueline with 11 and is now tied for the league lead among all skaters.
THE TEAM THAT CRIED WOLFE: Thunder forward Greg Wolfe extended his own scoring streak to eight games as he set a Thunder franchise record with five points (2-3-5) in Sunday's win. Wolfe, who also set personal ECHL career highs in assists and points, has now collected 18 points (7-11-18) over his last 11 games played. Wolfe is now third among active Thunder skaters with 36 points (14-22-36) on the season.
GLASS HALF CULL: Adirondack forward Cullen Bradshaw collected back-to-back multi-assist games over the weekend as he picked up another two helpers in Sunday's victory. Bradshaw has now collected seven points (2-5-7) in five games played with the Thunder with each game to date coming against Manchester.
MOVE ALONG: The Thunder made a pair of roster moves in advance of tonight's game. Forward Mikkel Aagaard, who matched Wolfe's five-point output on Sunday, has been recalled to the Stockton Heat of the AHL. Adirondack then added forward Dean Yakura to the roster, a veteran in his seventh professional season. Yakura scored a goal in two games earlier in the season with Manchester and has played in 26 ECHL games to date. criptions.
