Isotopes Drop Series Opener in Memphis

A broken-bat bloop double in the seventh inning was the difference on Monday as the Memphis Redbirds defeated the Isotopes, 6-4, at AutoZone Park. Albuquerque has now dropped three of their last four games.

Offensively, the Isotopes were led by Mike Tauchman's 3-for-4 night. The center fielder finished a triple shy of the cycle, recording his fourth home run of the season that matches a career-high set in 2014. Tauchman finished the night with three RBI.

Isotopes shortstop Rafael Ynoa knocked home the other run of the game for Albuquerque when he connected on his first home run of the season.

Albuquerque starter Matt Flemer received a no-decision on the evening. The right-hander allowed four runs on seven hits over his five innings on the mound.

Isotopes reliever C.C. Lee would suffer the hard-luck loss, allowing two runs on a broken-bat bloop double in the bottom of the seventh inning.

The Isotopes and Redbirds are back in action tomorrow morning from AutoZone Park. The Redbirds will turn to super-prospect Arturo Reyes (5-0, 2.12 ERA). Albuquerque has yet to name a starter for the contest. First pitch from Memphis is set for 10:05 a.m.
