November 14, 2021 - Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL)
Charlottetown Islanders News Release

After a successful night in Cape Breton, the Islanders are now on a two-game win streak and sporting a 3-1-0 record on the road trip. It was Lukas Cormier having some dazzle last night getting a breakaway while on the penalty kill and roofing a nice backhander for his eighth of the season. Oliver Satny picked up his sixth win in seven starts and managed to keep his GAA around two when he stopped nine of eleven shots. Ben Boyd also had an impressive return to the lineup as his presence was felt immediately as he accumulated two assists against the Eagles. Now, the Islanders sights turn to Halifax where they wrap up this lengthy five-game road trip with some matinee action at the Scotiabank Centre.

The Mooseheads are off to a fairly strong start to the year holding a 9-5-0-1 record to this point of the season. The last time out for Halifax was a win also against Cape Breton with the exact same score as the Isles. Robert Orr led the way to the Mooseheads 5-2 victory as he recorded his fourth and fifth goals on the year. Elliot Desnoyers is currently leading the Mooseheads in points with 25 this season, Desnoyers has delivered eleven goals to put him at the top of the QMJHL goal list. Halifax looks to be stiff competitors in the Maritime division and give the Isles a run for their money as they are also currently on a two-game win streak taking down tough competition in the Titan, then their win over the Eagles.

The season series is currently all tied up at one a piece between the Isles and Halifax with Charlottetown taking game one at the Eastlink Centre 4-1, and the Mooseheads prevailing at home 2-0 the next game. Jacob Goobie will get the start in his home town this afternoon after getting the night off last night when Oliver Satny took the crease in the win against Cape Breton. Goobie has five wins and five losses on his record this season to go along with a 2.61 GAA and a .908 SA%. Also with Laaouan and Simoneau recording assists last night out they keep their names atop the assists leader board for the QMJHL, both now with seventeen helpers.

Puck drop is set for 3 pm this afternoon at the Scotiabank Centre as your boys in black and harvest gold look to push their way through Moose country with a victory and return home on a roll.
