Last time they met: The Winnipeg ICE put the game beyond doubt with a 4-1 lead after 20 minutes in Winnipeg on last Sunday - the final score would read 7-2 for the home town boys as the Blades were humbled in the league's Eastern-most city in back to back games to finish a four game road stint.
What it means for Saskatoon: The end of a three game losing skid & getting back on the winners' list in front of their home crowd.
The stat: 18. 18 is the number of goals Saskatoon has allowed against Winnipeg in three games played for the 2018-19 season. The Blades will need to halt the ICE's prolific scoring if they are to find a path to victory tonight.
The match-up: The ICE's offensive nature vs the Blades' defensive demeanour - Winnipeg has scored with ease against Saskatoon and the onus falls on the Blades to change the way the games between these two clubs are being played. The Blades' defensive demeanour will need to channel their earlier-season-selves and bring back the stinginess that saw them play in 10 one-goal-games in a row.
It's a big night for: Eric Florchuk. It is Florchuk's 200th WHL game tonight - what better way for the Washington Capitals prospect to celebrate than with a goal or two against the ICE?
Pokecheck's Birthday presented by Save on Foods: Join Pokecheck and all his mascot friends including Gainer the Gopher and Bruiser the Bulldog for Pokecheck's birthday party! Kids will receive a goodie bag, a birthday cupcake, and be able to sing happy birthday to our big furry friend!
Post-Game Autograph Zone: #39 Riley McKay, #27 Nolan Kneen & #6 Scott Walford signing hockey cards which will be available for purchase in packs of 3 for $1.
