Saginaw, Mich. - After a victory in Game 1, the Saginaw Spirit battle the Soo Greyhounds for Game 2 of this second-round series on April 13th at the Dow Event Center.

The Series:

The Saginaw Spirit won Game 1 of the second-round series on April 11th, winning 4-0 off a 39 save shutout from Andrew Oke. Hunter Haight opened Saginaw's scoring early in the second before Calem Magnone sent home a goal on a two-on-one late into the second, entering the third up 2-0. In the final frame, Alex Christopoulos netted his first of the postseason 55 seconds into the period before Matyas Sapovaliv helped ice that game with an empty-net goal, cementing a 4-0 Spirit win. Charlie Schenkel made the start for the visiting Soo, stopping 31 of 34, while Oke's shutout was Saginaw's first in the playoffs since Ivan Prosvetov stopped all 34 Soo shots on April 14th of 2019.

Players to Watch:

Owen Beck enters Game 2 as Saginaw's top point-getter this post-season, compiling eight points (2G, 6A) in five games. Beck also continues to add to his 30 career playoff points, which ranks third among all active OHL players. Michael Misa, Josh Bloom, and Hunter Haight all have netted three goals so far. Andrew Oke currently holds the OHL Playoff lead in goals against average (GAA) at 1.60, save percentage (SV%) with a .947, and wins with five.

Captain Bryce McConnell-Barker leads the Soo in points this playoff (8), holding two goals and six assists. Both Gavin Hayes and Owen Allard have scored three times in the first round, with Hayes adding four assists to place him second on the team in points. Jack Beck's status continues to be unknown after an injury suffered during Game 1 of their first-round series. Beck compiled a team-leading 85 points and 58 assists, all while adding 27 goals from the left wing. Charlie Schenkel has started for the Greyhounds in every game this postseason, setting a 2.66 GAA, a .892 SV%, and three wins.
